These are games with low buy-ins, evolving rules, and outcomes nobody takes too seriously — until they do. Cards, dice, Shut the Box: quick ways to move a few dollars around, keep egos in check, and decide who’s picking up the next round. A great way to reduce bulky wallets. Wins are enjoyed briefly. Losses are blamed on luck, seating position, or the dealer’s vibe. Mostly, it’s an easy excuse to sit down together, laugh at ourselves, and let the night run long without anyone pretending this was the plan.
